🇪🇺 A quick but important update for our EU customers

Tomorrow, Monday 10th August, will be the final day to place an EU order before we temporarily pause shipping to Europe.

From 12th August, new EU rules under the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) begin to apply.

In very simple terms, these rules change the responsibilities businesses have for the packaging they send into EU countries, including new requirements around packaging compliance, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), registration and representation in each ERU country that we ship into (Yes its a headache to say the very least!).

For a small independent UK business selling directly across multiple EU countries, there is quite a lot to untangle, and I don't want to continue accepting orders until I'm completely confident that we're doing everything correctly.

So we're pressing pause. Not saying goodbye. 🖤

What's particularly frustrating is that we were already very close to signing with an EU fulfilment centre, which would have made ordering from VE within Europe much easier. Unfortunately, these changes have halted that process too while we establish exactly what needs to be in place going forward.

I would much rather temporarily stop, do the work properly and find a sustainable solution than rush into something and potentially cause problems for either VE or our customers.

🇪🇺 Want to order before the pause?

EU orders will remain open until the end of Monday 10th August.

After that, EU shipping will be temporarily switched off while I work through the new requirements. If there's something you've been eyeing up, now is the time to grab it. 🖤

And please don't panic, I fully intend for VE to return to the EU. You've supported this strange little independent business through Brexit, customs changes, tax changes and more paperwork than I ever imagined existed when I decided to make makeup for a living. 😂

We'll figure this one out too.
