đ⨠VE Cosmetics Wins Gold at the Stevie Awards â¨đ
From school runs to global recognition, chaos, caffeine and a little magick.
Last Night I was supposed to in New York to give a short speech at the Stevie Awards the big international business ones where all the serious, well organised companies turn up looking terribly polished (and oh so organised).
Meanwhile, over here in Lincolnshire, both my passport and my husbandâs had expired (because of course they had), and every passport office within a hundred miles was booked solid. So, instead of catching a flight to NYC, I carried on as normal, did the school run, grabbed a coffee, and sat in the car trying to work through my inbox.
Thatâs when it happened.
Ping.
An email popped up saying that I had won a Gold Stevie Award for Most Innovative Company of the Year (Small Business).
So yes , I found out Iâd won a global business award in the front seat of my car, surrounded by crisp packets, half a coffee, and my sons homework that he'd forgotten to take with him đ¤
This oneâs technically in my name, but it represents everything VE stands for, a small, fiercely ethical, vegan and cruelty free brand built from a kitchen table, now recognised on an international stage alongside giants like IBM, Amazon and Meta.
VE has always been about ethics and rebellion wrapped in eyeliner, proving that makeup can be both magickal and meaningful, that neurodivergent led businesses can thrive, and that you donât need a corporate team of hundreds to make real impact.
Winning a Gold Stevie still feels surreal, and I keep half-expecting someone to email saying, âSorry, thereâs been a clerical error.â đ But until that happens, Iâm claiming it for every indie founder doing their best, every customer whoâs ever believed in this brand, and everyone whoâs ever felt âtoo differentâ to fit the mould.
Now, if you need me, Iâll be lurking by the letterbox like a cryptid until my trophy arrives. đâ¨
