Cosmic Bane is a blackened cream pigment scattered with flashes of violet, crimson, and burning pink sparkle like dying stars collapsing into the void. Dense, smoky, and dangerously luminous, it reveals hidden fire with every movement of light.

The lightweight gel cream texture glides on smoothly, then sets to a flexible, long-wear film that resists creasing and smudging. Wear it as a sheer wash of shadowed shimmer or build to an intense, foiled metallic finish for bold gothic, editorial, and after-dark looks.

Wear alone for molten depth, or layer over matte black to intensify the ember-like sparkle and create dramatic contrast.

Apply with a fingertip or dense synthetic brush for maximum payoff.

Spectral Flux - Cosmic Bane

This is an exceptional product: it performs exactly as promised, this is the longest lasting shadow I've used - my hooded lids tend to wear away even the most pigmented shades.

The swatches are representative, I wasn't sure the colour payoff would be that good but it is. You can do a thinner layer for less depth but I wanted the full experience so I did a thin later (following the product guide), let it set and applied another thin layer. This gave me a bold look that matched the swatch. It does set super quick so I didn't have to wait, by the time I'd done both lids, lid one was ready for the next layer. For reference, I applied it with my fingertip.

I usually wear lighter colours so I patted a little duochrome shimmer over the top. If you go gently with a small amount of a shimmer, you will still get the Spectral Flux showing through with no issues, it just gives a lighter overall effect.

The multichrome of the Spectral Flux is stunning by itself and it is easy to apply layers, just make sure you use the product guide and then application is straightforward. I had expected the formula to be a bit of a diva because of the specific instructions in the guide but it wasn't, the guide is clear and I got the application right first time.

The colour was still going strong 12 hours later, although I note the powder shimmer had worn off by then (not a VE shimmer, for reference, but a highly pigmented one from another brand, I did only use a small amount of that shimmer though).

I didn't experience any fallout. Although I was a bit messy with the application around my lid towards the outer corner brow bone it was easy to correct it with a cotton bud and rubbing off the outer edge didn't affect the placement on the lid itself.

If you use your finger, you will have to scrub to get it off your finger - handwash isn't going to do it, you want to kind of peel it off essentially then handwash to get any remaining colour off. I did think might be hard to take off my lids but I came off easy with balm cleanser.
