A Small Packaging Update: Hygiene Seals & Tamper-Evident Packaging

You may notice that some VE Cosmetics products now arrive with a tamper-evident sticker, seal, or shrink wrap.

I wanted to explain why.

For a long time, we worked to reduce unnecessary plastic wherever possible, including removing some outer wraps from products where we felt we safely could. Sustainability matters to us, and we still believe packaging should be kept as minimal as possible.

However, as VE Cosmetics has grown, our order fulfilment is now handled through a warehouse rather than directly by us in house. This means we need a clear and reliable way for fulfilment staff to identify whether a hygiene sensitive product has remained unopened, unused, and safe to remain in sellable stock.

Cosmetics are personal use products, and customer safety has to come first. Tamper-evident packaging helps make sure that opened or handled items are not accidentally returned to stock.

This does mean that some products may now include a small amount of additional packaging, such as a security sticker or protective wrap. We’ll continue to use the most minimal option we can for each product, and where a sticker is sufficient, we’ll choose that over full wrapping.

This isn’t a step away from our sustainability values. It’s part of balancing those values with hygiene, safety, and responsible stock handling as the brand grows.
