Occult Luxe Spectral Flux Pigments: Product Guide
Occult Luxe Spectral Flux Pigments: Product Guide
Colour that shifts like a spectre in candlelight.
Please note all these shades have different textures, some are very fluid and some are thicker, this is down to the individual pigments used in each shade.
Our Spectral Flux Pigments are fast-setting, water-based pigments designed to create an intense iridescent shift over the eyes. They can be worn alone as a veil of spectral colour, layered over deeper shadows for extra dimension, or built up for a more dramatic occult gleam.
Because this formula sets quickly, it works best when applied with intent: blend swiftly, close tightly, and let the pigment do its haunting.
How to Apply
For maximum reflect, apply with a fingertip and gently tap onto the desired area.
For a softer wash of colour, use a flat brush or small detail brush.
Blend the edges quickly before the formula sets. Once dry, the pigment is designed to stay in place, so avoid overworking it after it has dried.
For a more intense spectral shift, layer over deeper base shades such as:
- black;
- plum;
- navy;
- charcoal;
- deep brown;
- burgundy.
Darker bases will make the iridescent shift appear stronger and more dramatic.
Ways to Wear
Spectral Topper
Tap lightly over matte or shimmer shadow to add a shifting veil of colour.
Full Lid Flux
Apply a thin layer across the lid and allow to dry fully before adding more.
Inner Corner Ritual
Use a small brush to add a flash of light to the inner corner.
Graphic Detail
Mix or refresh the texture with a tiny amount of our Pure Magic Mixing drops and apply with a detail brush for sharper lines or accents.
Formula Notes
Spectral Flux uses a fast-setting, water-based formula. This means the texture may begin to thicken if the lid is left open for too long or if the product is not sealed properly after use.
This is normal for this type of formula and does not necessarily mean the product is faulty.
To help preserve the texture:
- always close the lid tightly after use;
- do not leave the pot open while applying your makeup;
- store away from heat, radiators and direct sunlight;
- avoid storing in humid areas;
- keep the rim of the jar clean so the lid can seal properly.
If Your Pigment Thickens
If the product begins to thicken, gently stir before use.
If needed, add a tiny drop of VE Mixing Medium or a suitable cosmetic mixing medium to refresh the texture.
Use only a very small amount at a time. Adding too much liquid may thin the formula, affect the finish, or reduce performance.
For best results, you can also scoop a small amount onto a clean mixing palette and refresh that portion separately rather than adding liquid directly into the whole pot every time.
Do not use saliva, non-cosmetic liquids, oils, skincare, or random setting sprays to refresh the product.
Drying & Wear
Allow the pigment to dry fully before touching, layering, or blinking heavily.
Once set, avoid rubbing the area, as this may disturb the finish.
If applying multiple layers, use thin layers and allow each one to dry before adding more. Heavy layers may crack, crease, or feel less comfortable.
Hygiene Tips
To keep your pigment at its best:
- use clean fingers, brushes or tools;
- do not share eye products;
- keep the lid closed between uses;
- avoid introducing water or non-cosmetic liquids into the jar;
- discontinue use if irritation occurs.

Troubleshooting
My pigment has dried or thickened.
This can happen if the lid has been left open or not sealed tightly. Stir gently and refresh with a tiny drop of Magic Mixing Medium if needed.
The shift does not look as strong as expected.
Try applying over a deeper base shade such as black, navy, plum or charcoal. Iridescent pigments often appear more intense over darker colours.
The product is patchy.
Apply in thin layers and blend quickly before it sets. Avoid applying over oily, wet or unset bases.
The product cracks or feels heavy.
Too much product may have been applied at once. Use thinner layers and allow each layer to dry fully.
The lid will not close properly.
Wipe the rim of the jar clean before closing. Product build-up around the rim can stop the lid sealing tightly, which may cause drying.
