Understanding UK Postage Options & Delivery Timeframes

Table of Contents

When placing an order with VE Cosmetics, you’ll be able to choose from 2 Royal Mail postage options.

We know how exciting it is to wait for a parcel (we feel the same way when ours arrive!), so we wanted to explain exactly how these services work and what the delivery timeframes mean.

    Dispatch vs Delivery

There are two separate stages when it comes to getting your order to you:

    1. Packing & Dispatch

This is when your order is packaged up and is handed over to Royal Mail.

    2. Delivery

This is when Royal Mail transport and deliver the parcel to you.

Once a parcel has been dispatched and scanned into the Royal Mail network, it is fully handled by Royal Mail, and delivery times are determined by their postal service.

What “Tracked 48” and “Tracked 24” Actually Mean

Royal Mail services such as Tracked 48 and Tracked 24 refer to the service aim, not a guaranteed delivery date.

    Typically:

    • Tracked 48 – aims for delivery in around 2 working days after dispatch
    • Tracked 24 – aims for delivery in around 1 working day after dispatch

However, these timeframes are not guaranteed by Royal Mail and occasional delays can occur within the postal network due to:

    • Seasonal demand
    • Weather conditions
    • Local depot delays
    • Operational issues within Royal MaiL

Because of this, the postage option selected relates to how the parcel is sent, rather than guaranteeing an exact arrival date.

Once Your Parcel Has Been Dispatched:

As soon as your order leaves us, you will receive a dispatch confirmation email with your tracking number.

    At this point:

    • The parcel is in Royal Mail’s care.
    • Tracking updates will be provided directly by Royal Mail.
    • Delivery times are controlled by the postal service rather than VE Cosmetics.

What To Do If Your Parcel Is Delayed

Most parcels arrive within the expected timeframe, but if you notice a delay we recommend:

    1. Checking your tracking link for the latest update.
    2. Allowing a little extra time during busy periods.

If a parcel becomes significantly delayed or appears lost, we can open an investigation with Royal Mail and assist you further.
